PROJECTS

Our current focus is the Addis Yeewuket Minch Primary School. This is a 2018 joint venture with Tirzah Children and Community Development Association (an Ethiopian NGO). After much planning, in July of 2018 buildings were acquired and renovated for a school to educate and provide full-year nutrition to 200 students.

In September of 2018 the school was opened. The school is free for the children to attend and provides a full-year nutrition program for the students. Student selection gives preference to double orphans then orphans, and then fills the remaining vacancies via advisement from the local Women’s and Children’s Affair Office that focus on selecting children who do not have the financial means to pursue an education. Additionally, the school provides numerous jobs for teachers, cooks, guards, and limited school administration staff within the community.

STUDENTS

One of our main goals is to ensure that our students are safe, healthy and equipped to learn. We currently have over 200 students attending the Addis Yeewuket Minch Primary School. The purpose of our school is to provide our students with an education & nutrition program for free. Our students are selected based on necessity; thus, orphans are given first preference, followed by those who do not have the financial means to go to other learning institutes. We hope to increase the number of students attending the Addis Yeewuket Minch Primary School and continue to grow.

NUTRITION

We value a strong, healthy community which is endorsed through our Nutrition program. All students are provided with a full-year nutrition program which is complimentary with the school. We employ cooks from the community and purchase food for students for the entire year. A focus for us in the future is to use the existing cooking facility and cooks to prepare food for other children in need in the area. This includes the students’ siblings, family members and relatives, as well as the community neighbors. We have partnered with local partners to ensure that we are taking the right steps to building a healthy community.
